God's Allowance: Bad Days

Hola Chicas and Chicos!

Today was a bad day...I thank god for it. I thank god for allowing me to experience the good and bad days that life has to offer.

Today, I've experienced a sense and thought of...Enough is Enough. I'm a nice person...so nice that people tend to take advantage of me in various ways. People assume that I will do what they want, say what they want me to say or go along with what they have going on. No longer will I allow that to take place.

Being nice doesn't mean that you'r naive or absent-minded. Being nice is who I am. I help others because I want to. Being nice makes me Nadia. Everyone that knows me, knows that I'm a nice person. There are some people who know that you're nice and aim to exploit you.

Bieng nice in a relationship could work at time, but there are times where it could back fire. For me, being nice in a relationship has always lead me to disappointment. Men tend to take advantage of my calm and/or passive nature. I'm very nice and men know that. "Let's see how far I can get away with" is most men mantra.

Well today, I'm over it...I'm over people/men taking advantage of my niceness. I'm no longer standing on the side like a mistress!!! I am taking my life back and with God's guidance, plan to live and do things that make me happy. Being told to be patient, and hold on are not good enough for me anymore. I will continue to be nice, but will hold my own when I see that others are taking advantage of me. I will adopt a new word in my vocabulary....NO.

I plan to take my life back from the joy stealers and dream killers. I pray to god that my life is fulfilled with great expectations and wonderful experiences. I know that I can't forever shield myself from negativity, but I an change how I deal with those situations and experiences.

Stay posted !
Sorry to vent, but I had to let it go.....!

Message within the Lesson

Pastor's message from 2/27/11 morning service...

This week's Lesson within the Message is about Trusting God During Your Stress.
My pastor eloquently delivered a sermon about trusting god during strife and struggles.

The pastor spoke about a woman [Mark 5:24-34] who had a condition - 12 years of bleeding- and no doctor was able to cure- she got worse. She heard about Jesus; so happen Jesus was in town and she pressed her way through the crowd and tugged on the hem of Jesus' robe. She thought that if she touched his Jesus robe she would be healed. In that instance, the bleeding stopped and she felt better, and Jesus felt his healing powers leave and soon asked who touched his robe. Once the woman identified herself, Jesus said to her " Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over."

The woman did 3 things:
1. Position herself to hear talk about Jesus
2. Pondered inner thoughts about Jesus
3. Pressed herself passed her condition to get to Jesus

According to New Living Translation, we should never allow our fear to keep us from approaching him. Sometimes we feel that our problems will keep us from God. But he's always ready to help, no matter how impossible the problem seems to us.

Touch Jesus heart with sincere worship -- things will soon start to change. As soon as you touch Jesus, HE will touch you back - your stress will go away.

God can handle your issue LET IT GO...LET IT GO...and Trust God!!!!

Latest Project

Hola Chicas!!!

I was  asked, by a close family friend, to assist with designing her upcoming wedding invitations and other documents. This is BIG TIME chicas!

I've designed birthday party invitations and adult-themed party flyers, but a wedding invitation is mind blowing for me. I guess that's testiment to my work...or the confidence that one may have in my work.

Although this task seems to be a challenge, I am certainly up for it. Who knows, maybe this could lead to something bigger. Who knows...only time will tell - stay tuned!!!!

EXPERIENCE & ENJOY - MY BOOKSHELF: Heart of the Matter - Emily Giffin

Greetings My Fellow Bookworms!!!

I want to start something new and informative. I came up with "My Bookcase."

I've decided to blog about the books I'm reading and that I've learned. I've always been fascinated by opening all kinds of books. I love to write and reading has exposed me to various writing styles. For me, writing allows me to fly to unknown places and reading provides the passport.

Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. ~Richard Steele, Tatler, 1710

The latest book read:
Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffin

I absolutely LOVE Emily Giffin's books!!!

This book was very interesting and attention -grabbing. The story highlighted two women, Tessa and Valerie. Tessa was a mother of 2 small children, married to a successful and well-known pediatic plastic surgeon. They lived in an affluent neighborhood in Massachusetts.

Valerie is a lawyer and single-mother of a 6-year old son. The two women paths crossed when Valerie's son is involved in an accident in which he has severe burns to his face and arm.

The two women's path cross by a strange series of events. Without giving too much away, the women end up sharing a common thread. Can you guess?

I highly recommend this book and the rest of Emily Giffin's book series:
